The radiating lines of individual bark beetle larvae as they burrow away from their mother's nest.
Each one a life that never saw light, never crossed paths with its siblings, spent months or years eating in darkness, transforming in a pupation chamber at tunnel's end, then boring an exit hole to fly into brief adulthood.

Carving networks beneath the surface. Galleries that branch and spiral without plan or destination. The tunnel it creates is both path and archive. A map detailing time. A geography of hunger, the determined dawdling of consumption.

Our own beginnings are behind us, at a distance unique to our journey. There always remains a point of origin. We start from a moment, a place, and a set of conditions.

We escape into light, but what we consumed in darkness stays mapped forever.

Each Pressed Penny is handmade and unique.
